KEJOHANAN CATUR TERBUKA FELDA LASAH 2012
Got up early to go to this tournament. It took 1 hour drive to get there. The participant just around 50. Mostly kids.
I entered the Open section with around 15-20 people. The game was joined together with the other category. I was seeded board 6, I didn't give my rating and even my name was misspelled "Ahmad Akmal" . Huh! I didn't care about it just entered for the thrilled of competition.
The first game, I had black and was paired against a kid. He did a touch move and i just let it go by. I won in a simple endgame.
2nd Game, I have white where I was paired against another kid. I won.
3rd Game, I was paired against the organizer daughter. She played well. I won the game.
4rd Game I was White. My Opponent Mr Gavin Tan, played KID. I had a very strong attack towards his king side. I won the game.
In the fifth game I had black and I won the game.
In the seventh round I meet Mr Garry where I lost on time .. I need to learn to get better in time management.
In the last round, I had Black. In the endgame I exchange my queen for my opponent 2 rook. In the end I had 4 pawn and 2 rook for his 1 Queen and 1 pawn. I was about to push my passed pawn when the time limit is reach. I won on time.
The final result is 6 win and 1 losses. I end up as the first runner-up. Not bad ..

Kuala Kangsar KLK-PICA
This is the first leg of the KLK-PICA grand Prix. It was held at SMK Clifford. I went there early, it was a hectic day where the late registration, the crowded hall, and the noise, not to mention the heat.
Its was 7 round with 20minute time control. I won my first round. My second round I lost to Mohd Hazim, it was my second losses to him. I blundered in the opening and lost material for no compensation.
In round three to round round six, I won all my game. In the last game I was on the first table where I meet the eventual champion. He beat me easily.. ha ha ha my final score 5 win and 2 losses. I was place 8th overall.

Limau Bali Blitz
Limau Bali Blitz Tournamen .
This was a small event with around 30 participation. It was 10minute with 6 round. I'm not really fond of Blitz game. I don't really have the mind set to play fast. I just entered this tournament for fun. I won the first game on time . I offered a quick draw on the second game where my opponent was my coach for my state team . I draw again on my third game where the arbiter had to be call in, it was opposite colored Bishop and my my opponent was playing for time. I won my fourth game. I lost my fifth game on time and won my last game. The final score was 3 win 2 draw and 1 losses . I was place 5th overall.. this was something that I hadn't expected

My First tournament in 2012 was in KL ( 2nd Cerdik Catur SemiPro ) on 15th January. There was lot's of participant. It was 8 round with 20min time control. My result was 4 win 2 draw and 2 losses. I lost my first game of a blunder that I make, such a stupid move.... ha ha ha ... my second losses was because of the, I forgot to look at the clock .. I receive best government but didn't stay to collect it. because I busy going to shopping complex to buy snow glove. ha ha ha on the 16th I'm going to Korea for my family vacation.

A Sparring at Bali Tambun
I had a very instructive sparring session with Mr.Azmi Last night. First game I played as white where I blundered 2 pieces. Maybe I was tired. The second game I played as black where we reach this position.
Here i had make a mistake by placing my king at g6 and Mr Azmi move Rd7. Luckily the previous day I study pawn endgame and calculated Rxf5 where I would have strong passed pawn. This is the end position where my two pass pawn are too strong.
